About binerdle and the nerdleverse

Binerdle is one of the most popular nerdle variants. Whilst nerdle was inspired by puzzles and a love of math, binerdle took its lead from another game called Dordle, which put two word puzzles together to make an even more challenging word game. Binerdle (bi-nerdle, meaning two nerdles) take the same idea and doubles the challenge (and the fun!) of our classic nerdle daily math game. It was one of the first nerdle variants launched in the the wider nerdleverse and is still one of our favorites. Binerdle also has a smaller variant, mini binerdle, which combines two mini nerdles together.

What is binerdle?

Binerdle (also referred to as bi-nerdle or bi.nerdle) presents you with two nerdle challenges to solve simultaneously. Instead of the usual 6 attempts you get to solve a nerdle, binerdle gives you seven attempts. Each day, there is a new binerdle math puzzle, combining two different nerdles and leading you to two hidden calculations.

How do you play binerdle step by step?

To play the binerdle daily math challenge, follow these four simple steps:

1. First, get familiar with the classic nerdle concept by playing a few games.

2. Give your first binerdle a try. It's similar to solving a classic nerdle - the math is exactly the same - but keep an eye on both games at the same time.

3. Develop your binerdle strategy. The optimum strategy for binerdle is a bit more sophisticated than for classic nerdle. Because you only get one extra guess but have to solve two full nerdles simultaneously, make sure your guesses are helpful for both games when they can be. Don't forget that you have to solve one of the two puzzles in a maximum of 6 moves in order to have a guess left to solve the other puzzle. But that might be too many moves if you haven't uncovered enough clues for puzzle number two.

4. Keep at it. Binerdle is a little tricky to start with but you'll soon get the hang of it. Come back tomorrow and play again.

What is mini binerdle?

Mini binerdle (also referred to as mini-bi-nerdle or mini.bi.nerdle) presents you with two mini nerdle challenges to solve simultaneously. i.e. two 6-digit mini nerdles instead of the two 8-digit classic nerdles that you get when playing binerdle. Mini binerdle is therefore easier than binerdle but still with the extra challenge of solving two simultaneous games.

Is binerdle harder than nerdle?

Nerdle challenges can vary in difficulty a lot. For example, most people find it easier to solve 12+35=47 than 125/5=25. Combining two games into one with binerdle certainly increases the difficulty level a bit, but the difficulty level of any given binerdle arguably depends on (1) how difficult the two individual games are (2) how good your starting guesses are at giving you the maximum information possible and (3) how much overlap there is between the two simultaneous games. If you find it very tricky or surprisingly easy one day, you'll probably have a different experience the next. The best way to find out is to give it a go!

Is nerdle a Dordle alternative?

The idea of combining two nerdles together was inspired by the way the game 'Dordle' combined two word puzzles together. We've had plenty of requests for even more than two. Well, there are other popular multi-grid games such as Quordle (4 grids), Octordle (8 puzzles), Sedecordle (16 grids) and even Duotrigordle (32 at once!), so why not multiple nerdles at once?
